I have checked out a lot of retrofit kits and this is by far one of the best. It is well made and the diameter of the lens is larger and more proportional to the size of a 6 inch can. The trim is metal, probably to dissipate heat, but it will not distort or warp, even if you install it on a textured ceiling. It has a clip to hold the socket junction away from the transformer (no other kit I have seen has this) and it delivers a whopping 840 lumens of light. The light is pleasing at 3000K, although I prefer 2700 K. It is not offered in the 2700K and this is perhaps the single drawback to this product. It is dimmable for those situations when less light is needed. This is an excellent product and an excellent value. It was a very easy to install and took less than 15 minutes.
