Circline Fluorescent Bulbs

Circline fluorescent bulbs are unique bulbs that are designed in the shape of a circle. They are able to produce more light with less energy as most fluorescent bulbs. Because of this, these bulbs are less likely to overheat when used for extended periods of time. However, their unique shape requires that they be used in fixtures designed for them. The circline fluorescent bulb cannot be used in standard fixtures.

Circline fluorescent bulbs can last up to 10,000 hours making them a fairly good investment starting at nine dollars a bulb. Though they may cost a bit more than the average bulb, their energy efficiency and their long lasting design will offset the initial investment.

Because the circline fluorescent bulb is not meant for use in standard light fixtures it is important to make sure that the light fixture is compatible with the bulb. A person can find this out by visiting their local hardware store or by checking the specifications given through online retailers. Their fixture should also provide information on the type of bulb necessary for its design.

Before a person purchases a fluorescent bulb they should keep in mind that such bulbs like the circline fluorescent bulbs cannot be disposed of in the regular trash. They will need to find out where and how they can dispose of used up fluorescent bulbs. This information should be available through their local community or town website.

With so many options out there a person should make sure they know exactly what they need before they make a purchase. They should read all the fine print and make sure they are getting not only the right type of bulb for their fixture but the right wattage as well. Once they know exactly what they need they can search in store and online for the most competitive prices to be sure they get the best deal on the best bulb out there.
