Halogen AR111 Bulbs

The low voltage AR111 bulbs utilizes a smaller "point source" filament aligned in an optically efficient reflector. The AR111 bulbs use a larger parabolic reflector and a capped filament to produce a tightly point beam resulting in center beam intensities 5 times higher than of MR16's.

AR111 are best used for dramatic, high contrast accents and hold their beam over longer throw distances of 30 feet. Because the filament is shielded with a metal cap, Par36 bulbs and AR111 bulbs have a very low brightness. The AR111 bulbs require a step-down transformer to supply their required 12 volts. Well suited for illuminating larger objects or areas such as fireplaces or wall hangings.
