- These stands are an excellent value all the way around. They are steel, so they're a bit heavier than what is expected in a stand like this, but they are very sturdy and the steel construction gives me a better feeling about being able to take these up to the 12 foot level. An aluminum tube version is fine for 9'-10', but at 12', I'm a fan of the heavier construction.
