PAR 38 bulbs are ideal for use in cans in smaller scale stage lighting, medium sized venues, DJ lighting systems, and bars. PAR 38 lamps are not limited to settings with a stage or to use in PAR cans. E26 and E27 medium screw base versions of this bulb are very popular in home & garden lighting, outdoor flood and security lighting, and recessed lighting. PAR 38 bulbs that feature medium side prong bases are used are used in track lighting in display applications such as in stores or restaurants and in some transportation and automobile applications. Because these bulbs are used in such diverse settings, they come in a wide variety of color temperatures (2,650K – 6,500K), wattages (from below 10W to 250W), and bulb types.
