GU10 bulbs are part of the multi-faceted reflector (MR) bulb family. They have the same diameter and dimensions of low voltage MR bulbs, but feature a different base with a different type of connector. There are two main differences between GU10 and low voltage MR16s. The first is that MR16 GU10s are designed to run exclusively on line voltage (120V), giving consumers who don’t want the hassle of installing low voltage transformers an MR lighting option. Secondly, GU10 filaments are typically larger, allowing you to use them in areas where lamp durability may be more of a concern. Like all MR bulbs, the GU10 produces a crisp and clear with perfect color rendering, making it a great choice in areas where color rendition is important.
