If you work in a lab or medical facility, you know how important it is to keep your work environment sterilized at all times. To this end, nearly all of today's professional facilities utilize germicidal bulbs to help keep their workspaces sterilized and germ-free. A germicidal bulb is a special type of lighting product that produces ultraviolet (UVC) light in order to disrupt the DNA base pairing process by catalyzing the formation of pyrimidine dimers and leading to the inactivation of unwanted viruses, bacteria, and protozoa. Germicidal bulbs can also be used to produce ozone for water disinfection.
