One of the World's Biggest LED Screen Lands at King's Tower in Saudi Arabia

By now, many of us have probably seen an LED screen at least once, whether it be at a sporting event, an airport or train station, an outdoor concert, or numerous other types of events. The recently completed King’s Tower in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, features the world’s largest LED screen to be integrated into a building’s façade. According to LEDs Magazine, the 107,700sqft LED screen is truly massive, spanning 21 floors on the north and south façade of the building and 16 floors on the western façade. The screen is comprised of 5 million LEDs and was constructed by the French company, Citiled. What is truly striking about the screen at King’s Tower is not only the 16.7 million colors that can be produced or the incredible high resolution animations, but the fact that the screen is transparent and the building’s windows can be seen illuminated behind the screen. The screen’s transparency gives the screen an organic feel and makes it seem as if it exists naturally on the building’s surface.

LED technology continues to push the boundaries of architecture as the King’s Tower LED screen makes apparent. The flexibility, durability, and compact size of LEDs makes them useful in nearly ever application from LED screens, to LED bulbs, to LED PAR cans and much, much more. BulbAmerica has a wide selection of LED products for outdoor lighting and general illumination purposes to keep your space looking its best.
